This was a presentation I completed in my course. I decided to present on The Opte project which was launched on the 22nd November 2003. It was created by a man by the name of Barrett Lyon. The main aim of it was to map all the connections across the internet at that time. This feat was achieved and what materialized from it was a visualisation of the internet which is still on display in the Museum of Modern Art, New York. This then progressed and turned into a project that would last over ten years (opte.org).
The latest version was released on the 11th July 2015. It is really striking how much our online communication grew in the space of twelve years. What will be even more fascinating is to see how it grows in the next ten years. Have a look at my presentation (here)
